[Peter's not the most romantic, it's true. His timing is bad, he's pretty poor at gift-giving, bad with communication and almost perpetually later. He's aware of all of this and it's pretty amazing that Gwen puts up with it, but.

When you wake up to an annoyed girlfriend after kind of a bizarre out-of-body experience and try to make it up to her, only to have the guy you're sorta bummed about be invited on your date--? Pete might not be a relationship genius, but that's a real mood killer.]
